Revenge of the women-hating old men (part infinity)

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, they rear their ugly heads. No one is protected. No one can hide.

That’s right – formerly misogynistic young men have morphed into misogynistic old men, and as long as they are out there, none of us are safe.

The women-hating old men are attacking in America with Donald Trump, the 69-year-old billionaire with a penchant for calling women “dogs” and making puerile period jibes. This man, as Fox’s Megyn Kelly said during Thursday’s GOP Debate, has called “women you don’t like ‘fat pigs’, ‘dogs’, ‘slobs’, and ‘disgusting animals… Your Twitter account has several disparaging comments about women’s looks. You once told a contestant on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees.” So stay safe out there – he is still leading in the polls for the GOP presidential candidates.

If you thought, Trump is far away in America, I’m still safe, you were wrong. The women-hating old men have attacked across the Atlantic, too. A leading columnist for Bild, Germany’s most popular newspaper, has unleashed a sexist diatribe on an unsuspecting public. In a recent short column, Franz Joseph Wagner lambasted “smoothie-drinking” career women for dropping the ball on the birthrate. They are too much like men, he charged – and they are no longer mothers.

But then he really let loose in an interview with Die Welt (which, incidentally, is owned by the same company that owns Bild), whose editor-in-chief is one of those pants-suit wearing, smoothie-drinking career women.

And so Wagner declares (forgive the Google-assisted translation): “I like more men than women. I can talk to them better…..Women are witch-like creatures for me. I’m more afraid of them than of lions or dinosaurs.”

And also, like the boy in Sixth Sense, he says that he sees these witch-like creatures “everywhere.”

“I see them in Charlottenburg, in Paris, New York. But I see no more mothers. And I have experienced too many sad women  – addicted to nicotine, addicted to alcohol, with her little career – with nothing. Where is happiness?”

There are more of these women-hating old men out there, so lock up your daughters, and be patient. Hopefully one day we’ll defeat them.
